The present day town of Woodstock, in Northeastern Connecticut, was originally settled as New Roxbury, Massachusetts in 1686. The town name was changed to Woodstock in 1690 and transferred to Connecticut in 1749.
Mass 351 rode through Woodstock on its Old Man Ride. We found evidence of the original New Roxbury name, ironically in the form of a liquor store!
